TabletsBroad-spectrum bactericidal agent, second generation fluoroquinolone. It inhibits DNA gyrase, a bacterial enzyme causing DNA supercoiling, binds to its tetramer (A2B2 gyrase subunits), disrupts transcription and replication of DNA resulting in a microbial cell death. It is highly active against Gram-negative aerobic microorganisms. It is effective against both extra- and intracellular Mycobacterium tuberculosis, induces their rapid elimination from the body, and provides faster infiltrate resorption. It is effective against the majority of microorganisms at low concentrations. Resistance emerges rarely.
