TabletsAntimicrobial agent of the fluoroquinolone class with a bactericidal effect. It shows activity against a broad spectrum of Gram-positive and Gram-negative microorganisms, anaerobes, acid-resistant and atypical bacteria: Mycoplasma spp., Chlamydia spp., Legionella spp. It is effective against beta-lactam- and macrolide-resistant bacterial strains. The bactericidal effect of moxifloxacin is due to the inhibition of topoisomerase II and IV which leads to blocking of replication, reparation, and transcription of microbial DNA and, as a consequence, microbial cell death.
