TabletsAntiviral agent. Ritonavir shows a selective affinity to HIV aspartyl protease and has a weak inhibitory effect on human protease.
As in vitro studies show, ritonavir has a marked inhibitory effect on replication of both laboratory HIV strains and clinical HIV isolates.
Ritonavir is almost completely metabolized in the liver.
