DocetaxelDosage form
Concentrate for solution for infusionAntineoplastic agent, semisynthetic paclitaxel analogue. Its mode of action is due to accumulation of tubulin in mitotic spindle microtubules which results in the inhibition of their normal reorganization. It causes the cell-cycle arrest at the G2/M phase.
Docetaxel achieves high intracellular concentrations with a long cell residence time. In addition, docetaxel is active on some but not all cell lines over expressing the P-glycoprotein (P-gP) which is encoded by the multidrug resistance gene.
