The production capacity of the new granulation area is 8 times more than that of its equivalents already installed at the Irkutsk plant. The many-fold increase in the line capacity is due to the use of new modern equipment: two tablet press machines capable to produce up to 1 million tablets per hour, a 1000-liter coater, and two fully automated packaging lines.

A first drug to be released by the line is Merifatin (INN: Metformin) in the form of film-coated tablets, 500 mg, No. 60. It is used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus. Previously, the drug has been manufactured by Pharmasyntez only at its plant in Tyumen.
