On April 20, Pharmasyntez took part in a round table on drug safety, organised by the Roscongress Foundation, with the aim of shaping the agenda of the upcoming Forum on Drug Safety, which will take place on the first day of the XXIV St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, namely on June 02. The round table was held with the active support of the Subcommittee on Circulation of Medicines, Development of the Pharmaceutical and Medical Industry under the Committee of the State Duma of the Russian Federation on Health Protection, represented by Aleksandr Petrov.

Oleg Astafurov, Vice President for Government Relations of JSC Pharmasyntez, put forward an initiative to the State Duma of the Russian Federation, together with regulators, representatives of science and business communities, to actively engage in the process of developing a package of state regulations aimed at developing an innovative pharmaceutical industry and overcoming critical dependence of the Russian Federation on imports of active pharmaceutical ingredients.

These regulations should form the basis of a clear strategy for development of the domestic pharmaceutical industry, which will allow in the short term (by 2030) to achieve a qualitatively different level of medical safety in Russia.

The successful strategy criterion should be the entry of at least 5 domestic pharmaceutical manufacturers into the TOP-100 Global Pharmaceutical Companies in the next 10-15 years.
