The 26th Session of the India-Russia Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation
The 26th Session of the India-Russia Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation was held in Moscow between Denis Manturov, the First Deputy Prime Minister and Dr S. Jaishankar, India’s External Affairs Minister.
The volume of trade between India and Russia has increased nearly sevenfold in the last five years. India is currently one of Russia's top three trading partners.
The First Deputy Prime Minister underlined the significance of continuing to work on the EAEU and India Free Trade Agreement and making sure that the two countries' mutual settlement procedures run smoothly.
Vikram Punia, the President of the Pharmasyntez Group, gave an interview to RT during a business forum held on the sidelines of the Intergovernmental Commission meeting. He spoke about the introduction of the company's plan to bring innovative medications to the Indian market, in particular Vamotinib, which is used to treat chronic myeloid leukemia. More clinical trials of the original medications will soon start in Indian clinical centers. Punia sees great potential for both localizing production in the Indian market and supplying Pharmasyntez medications to India. He pointed out that this will improve the company's standing domestically and make it possible for goods to be exported via India to the third countries.

The variety of goods is expanding in tandem with the rise in trade volumes. In addition to Russia's long-standing and reliable energy supplies to India, we currently export food items, diamonds, metallurgical and forestry products, mineral fertilizers, and power equipment. In turn, our country imports light industry goods, industrial raw materials, equipment, and components, pharmaceuticals and drug substances, and agricultural products from India,
