Igor Kobzev, Governor of the Irkutsk Region, presented the award to the head of Pharmasyntez. The honor was bestowed on behalf of the president during a ceremonial state awards ceremony on September 27, which coincided with Irkutsk Region Day.
In his speech, Governor Kobzev praised the recipients for their dedication and invaluable contributions to the region's prosperity:
“Your hard work, energy, and unwavering spirit are transforming, developing, and strengthening the Irkutsk Region. Looking at you, I am reminded once more that the Angara region is full of talented people. Today, we present highly prestigious awards, including the Order of Friendship, to the founder of Pharmasyntez. This company, founded in Irkutsk in 1997, now manufactures one out of every two packages of tuberculosis drugs used in Russia. I wish you good health, success, new accomplishments, and the realization of all your goals!”
Vikram Punia expressed gratitude for the recognition of his work:
“Dear colleagues and friends, I’d like to thank the Government of the Irkutsk Region, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, and President Vladimir Putin for this high appraisal of my efforts. This is extremely motivating for me and the entire Pharmasyntez team. We will do everything possible to boost the country's industry, strengthen healthcare systems, and assist doctors and patients. I appreciate your trust. I serve Russia!"
