Nomides® capsules

An antiviral agent. It is a prodrug that prevents the release of influenza virions from infected cells and their spread throughout the body. It inhibits influenza virus growth in vitro and suppresses viral replication and pathogenicity in vivo, reducing the shedding of influenza A and B viruses.

Nomides is indicated for the treatment of influenza in adults and children aged 1 year and over and weighing more than 10 kg who have typical influenza symptoms when influenza virus is circulating in the general population. Efficacy has been demonstrated when treatment is started within two days of symptom onset.

Nomides is indicated for post-exposure prophylaxis of influenza in adults and children aged 1 year and over and weighing more than 10 kg following contact with a clinically diagnosed case of influenza when influenza virus is circulating in the general population.

Patients who cannot swallow capsules or who require a single dose of less than 75 mg may be treated with 30 mg and 45 mg capsules, appropriate doses of a Nomides suspension prepared from capsules, or the specially developed Nomides powder for suspension.
