A visit took place during a working trip of D.B. Venkatesh Varma, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to the Russian Federation, and Embassy representatives to Irkutsk held to strengthen cooperation between the Irkutsk region and India.

The guests watched a presentation of the Pharmasyntez Group of Companies and had an excursion to a new large-scale production site for solid and sterile dosage forms of drug products opened in January this year.

Representatives of the Embassy of India got acquainted with the peculiarities of production of medicines and appreciated high-tech production equipment, including the one produced by the Indian company ACG.

During the meeting, Evgeny Orachevsky, Chief Executive Officer of JSC Pharmasyntez, spoke about current production and implementation of large investment projects of the Group of Companies.

Ways to optimize supply chains from India and neighboring countries were also discussed. The Ambassador expressed hope that Pharmasyntez, as a major player in the market, would be able to take part in the implementation of a government project to launch a new logistics route through Iran and the Caspian region, which, in case of success, would halve the time for delivery of goods and reduce its cost by 30%.

Furthermore, D.B. Venkatesh Varma promised to assist with air transportation of raw materials through a Green corridor to be launched by the end of 2021.
