As part of St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2022, an additional agreement to the current document on socio-economic cooperation between the Government of the Irkutsk Region and Pharmasyntez JSC was signed. The agreement includes the list of social events for 2022 that will be carried out by means of Pharmasyntez JSC for the purposes of socio-economic development of the Irkutsk Region.
- Pharmasyntez Company has been a reliable partner of the Irkutsk Region and one of the largest taxpayers in the region for about 25 years. The Government of the region assists in the development of its production activities. Russian manufacturers are now well-positioned to develop the pharmaceutical market. There is an active growth in the pharmaceutical industry of the Irkutsk Region. The production of medicines has increased by 48% since the beginning of the year, said Igor Kobzev, the Governor of the Irkutsk Region.
During the meeting, the head of the region and Vikram Punia, President of the Pharmasyntez Group of Companies, discussed the implementation of a new investment project for the production of bronchodilators in the region – the drugs that improve the symptoms of bronchospasm, and which are used in the treatment of bronchial asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Two sites for the production of hormonal and non-hormonal drugs are planned to be launched. The total cost of the project is 1 billion rubles. The production volume will be 136 million capsules with powder for inhalation and 867 thousand aerosols for inhalation per year. It is planned to put the products into circulation in the first quarter of 2024.
Within the framework of the agreement on social and economic cooperation, Pharmasyntez is participating in the social events in the region, provides charity support to the underprivileged citizenry, non-profit organizations, veterans, as well as property support to Irkutsk Research Technical University, Irkutsk State University, Favorsky Institute of Chemistry of Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
