New enterprise will produce drugs for the treatment of oncological and autoimmune diseases, as well as diseases associated with endocrine system disorders. This pharmaceutical complex will also become one of the country’s largest sites for the Sputnik Light vaccine production (*the vaccine for the prophylaxis of coronavirus disease).

The construction was carried out with the active support of the Government of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the Industrial Development Fund (VEB.RF), the Committee for Industrial Policy, Innovations and Trade of Saint Petersburg and JSC "Special Economic Zone «St. Petersburg». The total cost of the investment project exceeded 4 billion rubles.

Currently, Pharmasyntez-Nord is preparing for the licensing of the manufacturing site and its GMP certification.

The project aims to strengthen the country's pharmaceutical capacities. It will help patients get access to modern and high-quality drug products and vaccines of local production, and will also encourage the capacity-building in pharmaceutical production for St. Petersburg and the entire country.
