YOUNG PHARMACISTS - FUTURE POTENTIAL
An All-Russian scientific conference for students and postgraduates was held in Saint Petersburg State Chemical Pharmaceutical University (SP SCPU) on April 23 and 24. Pharmasyntez, the general sponsor of the event, gave prospective employees of the pharmaceutical industry a vivid description of their opportunities.
More than 3000 participants – students, postgraduates and graduates as well as guests fr om the US, Germany, Finland, Serbia and Kazakhstan – gathered at the event. Everyone could take part in workshops, talk to prospective employers, present their scientific report.
Pharmasyntez representatives talked to everyone who was eager to know more about the biggest Russian pharmaceutical company. At the Group of Companies' stand one could fill a recruitment checklist as well as apply for employer-sponsored education in SP SCPU for such majors as «Biotechnology» and «Chemical Engineering».
‘Education fees for those of applicants who qualify for employer-sponsored education will be covered by Pharmasyntez,’ Svetlana Shishova, head of the company training center, said. ‘They will get an opportunity to have their field experience and research internships at one of our facilities and if they study well they will get an extra scholarship. We also cover their expenses for flights to the University and back.  Applications can be submitted until June 30. This year 20 best school leavers can enter the employer-sponsored education program.’
After graduation they will be granted jobs at facilities of Pharmasyntez Group of Companies. Today a number of big investment projects is being implemented so there is a need in young specialists.
‘The most large-scale project of the company today is the one in Usolye-Sibirskoye,’ Aleхander Keiko, Chief Executive Officer of JSC Pharmasyntez, said. ‘It is here where a pharmaceutical park «Pharmasyntez-Chemi» that has all chances to become the largest pharmaceutical enterprise in Russia will be built. The complex will embrace many facilities, including the ones manufacturing active pharmaceutical ingredients and finished pharmaceutical products. Apart fr om Usolye, the construction of the second phase of the plant in Tyumen where modern hormone drugs will be manufactured is underway. Soon the construction of active pharmaceutical ingredients plant in Bratsk will be completed and the second phase of «Pharmasyntez-Nord» plant in St. Petersburg will be put into operation.’
Students who already study under employer-sponsored education program also took part in the “Young Pharmacists – Future Potential” Conference. They take active part in the company's life, regularly go for excursions to the facilities, help at the events.
The two day conference was capped by the plenary meeting wh ere Alexander Keiko, Chief Executive Officer of JSC Pharmasyntez, made welcoming speech and awarded one of the best students of the University for his research work «Synthesizing  and carrying out bioassays of innovative drug products». Then a vivid flash mob was held under the aegis of the company.
As Alexander Keiko noted, such events are very important for both students and employers. Participating in the events helps young specialists to find a future job place and gives understanding that the profession they have chosen gives them good prospects and is in demand. As for employers, it is a unique opportunity to find new employees, experts-to-be.
Pharmasyntez representatives regularly address students of Irkutsk universities and institutes as well as school leavers.  There are regular meetings wh ere specialists tell in details about Group of Companies’ opportunities, prospects of employment in the pharmaceutical industry in general and in the company in particular.
